Summer Writing Contest

Sponsored by Studio City Neighborhood Council and Friends of the Studio City Library

There will be prizes….good ones!

Studio City, CA – June 5, 2017 — All ages are invited to write this summer and their efforts and creativity could be rewarded in the form of a Kindle or many other prizes for first, second and third places.

The field of subjects is wide open and contestant writers are encouraged to write anything from a poem to a short story to a first chapter of a novel or an excerpt from a screenplay.

Anything less than 2000 words will work.

Categories of competition are as follows:

  • Kids Ages 0-11
  • Teens Ages 12-18
  • Adults Ages 19-120

Write by design and make it lyric, letter, scene from a play, essay or article. Anything goes. FRIENDS OF THE STUDIO CITY LIBRARY will read and select the winners and award prizes in a public ceremony to be held at the library. Feel free to use the library for ideas, research or a quiet place to write.

Entries should be dropped off at The Studio City Library by Thursday, August 31, 2017.
